If you enjoy both pasta salad and potato salad, you owe it to yourself to stop in at Patty Joe’s Po Boy Cafe on Route 18 in Abington next to Sullivan Tire, another outstanding establishment which is run by Bob DeMarco, a master of automotive service. The quality and pricing of the food at Patty Joe’s was exceptional, so much so that I have contracted with them to cater my next function. I know my guests will be as impressed as I was with this establishment.

I have seen their work over the last 25 years and I don’t believe there is another local company that even comes close to how they transform land into stunning and memorable designs.

A new Mexican food restaurant named Fiesta has opened its doors at 34 Bedford Street, Route 18, in East Bridgewater. Family members and I recently enjoyed absolutely the best Mexican food ever. (Incidentally, if someone in your group does not care for Mexican food, my brother had a hamburger that he said was “terrific.”) If you are a fan of Mexican food, however, and you live anywhere in New England, you just have to try this restaurant. The owner, Zoel Ramirez, has done a remarkable job renovating the building and creating a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I did happen to be the leasing agent for the entity which owns the building, but if the food wasn’t as good as it is, I would never recommend it privately let alone via one of my blog posts which so many followers see.

A few weeks ago I had the occasion to attend a funeral service which I usually find very difficult to do especially when it involves a mother who has passed on. I was so struck by a poem delivered by Reverend Bill Harding who performed the service, I wanted to take the opportunity to share it with you. The title is “What is a Mother?” by Frederick Krause. I would highly recommend reading it.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Jon Mitton of Pro Energy Consultants for the purpose of learning ways in which my commercial clients could save money through the utilization of basic energy conservation techniques. I came away from the meeting with him thoroughly impressed with his vast knowledge of conservation techniques and his passion for helping consumers save money. I was further impressed with the fact that he is truly an independent consultant and does not tie his services to the actual contracting phase of the utilization of his recommended techniques. To make matters better, his fees are very nominal relative to the value of his services.

I am very surprised by the number of small to mid-size companies who are not familiar with the new data security law which went into effect in Massachusetts on March 1st of this year. Mark Rogers of The Rogers Law Firm in Braintree shared the following points relative to how the law impacts companies:
• Failure to have appropriate security systems in place that protect personal information stored or maintained at your business; for example, locks on file cabinets, a lock on the door to the room where your server is located;
• Failure to have written confirmation from vendors who have access to your business’ personal information (i.e. IT consultants, CPA’s and even the cleaning service that cleans your office space) that they comply with the new MA Data Security Regulations:
• Failure to have appropriate computer system security, such as firewalls, email encryption and password protection.”

I hope these comments from Mark Rogers help you in better understanding the law. Lately, as I continue to tour offices with prospective tenants, I have observed many server rooms unlocked when a very inexpensive lock to secure the room could potentially save one’s company a substantial amount of “fine” money. If you are not totally familiar with the law, I would strongly suggest contacting an attorney or expert with Mark Rogers’ qualifications.
